This might be called “The Growing Pains of the Wimpy Kid“, Greg is in a big rush to grow up, but is it all it is cracked up to be?
Puberty is looming for Greg and his classmates. Rowley, Greg’s long suffering pal gets a pimple before Greg.
“...And, believe me, I’m not jealous or anything. But this is a kid who still sleeps with a pile of stuffed animals every night, so it doesn’t make sense that he would get his first pimple before I got MINE.”
This is similar in style to the earlier Wimpy Kid books with Greg, our slacker protagonist as guileless as ever. He should be taking more responsibility, now he is older and learning lessons from his mistakes but somehow never does. The book is in the usual format with cartoons interspersed with text in a trademark notebook font.
I hear it is a good book for reluctant readers, it has had phenomenal sales success.
